Terms of Use
Last updated: 21 October 2026
These terms apply to the PocketSprout app ("the app"), published by Nivaash (nivaash.nl), based in the Netherlands ("we", "us"). By creating a parent account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you got the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies. If you got it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
1. Who can use the app
A parent account can be created only by someone who is 18 or older. The parent or guardian creates the family and their children's profiles, links their children's phones, and is responsible for how their children use the app.
2. Pretend money
All money in PocketSprout is pretend money, for learning. It has no value, cannot be paid out, exchanged or transferred, and is not a bank account, savings account or investment account. The app never moves real money and doesn't connect to any bank. Reminders such as "give your child €5" or "move €25 to a real savings account" are suggestions for the family to act on outside the app, if they choose to.
3. Not financial advice
PocketSprout is an educational simulation. Nothing in the app is investment, tax or financial advice. Results in the app, including the "until you're 18" projection, are illustrations, not promises. Real investments can go down as well as up.
4. Prices and data
Investment prices in the app are practice prices: realistic example prices that PocketSprout generates for real companies, funds and commodities, with daily ups and downs and a yearly trend we set. They are not real stock market prices and say nothing about how these investments will actually perform. Exchange rates come from the European Central Bank and are updated once a day. The instruments, fees and rules in the app are simplified. Nothing in the app is suitable for real trading decisions.
Company names and logos are shown only to identify the companies; they belong to their owners, who are not connected to PocketSprout.
5. Your account
Keep your password and your children's PINs to yourselves. Tell us if you think someone else has access to your account. We may suspend an account that is misused or used against these terms.
6. Using the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your family. Please don't copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer it, or use it in a way that breaks the law or harms the app or other people.
7. Changes and availability
We may update the app, for example to change features, instruments, fees or rules. We may also stop offering it, and will tell parents in advance if we do. We try to keep the app running smoothly but cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.
8. Ownership
The app, its name, art and other content belong to us or our licensors. These terms don't give you any rights to them other than the licence in section 6.
9. Liability
The app is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including decisions about real money made based on the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
10. Privacy
How the app handles information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
11. Ending
You can stop using the app at any time and ask us to delete your family's data (see the Privacy Policy).
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if the changes are important we will tell parents in the app. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated terms.
